Some Oldies, but Goodies

We are back in New York and ready to start sharing some food highlights from our month long visit to Todos Santos this past summer. We love to discover new places, but also love to revisit and support some of our favorite places. Here is a little breakdown of some of our reliable favorites.

Some Oldies, But Goodies

Poke Loko

On our first night in we checked to see what was open. Seriously ya’ll, check Facebook, Instagram, and Google to make sure places are open (especially during the summer months).

We hit up Poke Loko — a walkable spot from Casa Suerte. They serve a variety of items from Pizza to Asian Food and this time it did not disappoint; in fact, I think it pleasantly surprised us as we forgot how much we enjoyed it here. From the ambiance to service to music (sometimes live bands) to the food, it’s a must stop in Las Tunas.

It’s as simple as the name implies. Come grab yourself 5 small Tacos (mix them up if you’d like) on homemade corn tortillas and a beer. They even have hamburgers and hot dogs for those not feeling the tacos (because let’s be honest, we all eat a lot of tacos when in Mexico). The house margarita also delivers.

They have vegan tacos and a veggie burger for those plant forward folks out there. This place is a walking distance from our house a true delight — the scenery, the lovely staff, and they even have “Taco Tuesday” live music nights.

When you want a fine dining experience with impeccable “farm to table” food, Jazamango is top notch. We hadn’t been in a while and it was a nice reminder as to why it’s one of our favorites.

The thoughtfully designed outdoor space transports you to another world. The staff are super knowledgable and will work with you to accommodate any dietary needs. And the food, oh the food, is seriously some of the best we have had in Todos Santos. I ordered a cauliflower dish that blew my mind. My family had wood fired pizzas and pasta — and they were equally impressed! We can’t recommend Jazamango enough and would definitely recommend this for a special occasion night when you are in town.

A German style beer hall within walking distance of our Casa? Yes, please! This place is one of our favorites — and they are now serving German inspired food!

Come grab a pint, taster tray, cocktail, or a glass of vino here for a fun evening out. This is a must hit up spot when you’re in town.

Coffee Shop Las Tunas

It wouldn’t be a trip to Casa Suerte without multiple walks to Coffee Shop Las Tunas. This place is seriously our favorite breakfast spot — and the avocado toast is off the chain delicious! AND their homemade breads are to die for. We never leave without grabbing a loaf from their bakery.

When you need a satisfying breakfast spot, this is the place to come. And did we mention it’s within walking distance from Casa Suerte? ;-)

When I want tacos (and I mean tofu tacos) — La Morena is my go to! They are full size tacos served on either flour or corn tortillas. Now don’t worry meat eaters, this place has plenty of things for you too! And the chips and guac will also blow your mind.

This under-rated spot is a must stop for us every time we come into town. The back patio is charming, the staff are delightful and the food is fresh and unique — with a Cuban flare. They also have live music several nights a week. Check them out for lunch or dinner when you are strolling the downtown streets.

These are a couple of our go-to’s when we are in town; in fact, we prioritize them on most of our visits as they never let us down. We discovered some new places (and we will share those too), but we wanted to give a shout out to those local spots that bring us so much joy every time we come to town. We hope you will check these spots out on your next trip to Todos Santos.
